Who we are

qathet (pronounced KA'thet) is a word that means “people working together” in the local language of the Tla’amin First Nation. We chose this name for the project as it is the name given to this region, the traditional territory of the Tla'amin Nation, in which we are privileged to operate. The meaning of the word also carries a significance for what we are hoping to achieve: a successful model of inclusion in employment in the manufacturing industry where people with and without disabilities work together.

From September 2020 until April 2022 we will be testing a social enterprise model where persons with and without disabilities work alongside each other in the production of a high quality handmade fire starter.
